Hi, I’m Sjoerd, a portrait and event photographer with a strong focus on people, authenticity, and real moments.
Photography, for me, is not about perfect poses or forced smiles. It’s about capturing who someone truly is. The small expressions, the in between moments, the atmosphere you might not notice at first, those are the things that make an image meaningful.
My approach
Whether I’m photographing a portrait or an event, my goal is to create a relaxed and comfortable environment. Many people tell me they’re “not photogenic” or feel awkward in front of a camera, and that’s exactly where I come in. I guide when needed, but I never overdirect. The best images happen when you can simply be yourself.
Background
Besides my work as a photographer, I study International Business, which helps me understand the needs of professionals, brands, and organizations. This combination allows me to approach photography not only creatively, but also strategically and reliably.
I’m naturally curious about people; what drives them, how they express themselves, and how moments unfold when you give them space. That curiosity is at the core of my work and shapes the way I photograph.

Traveling
Ohw by the way, when I’m not behind the camera for work, there’s a good chance I’m somewhere far from home, chasing new places, good light, and some amazing stories I love traveling, not just for the destinations, but for the unexpected moments, small details, and people you meet along the way.
Traveling keeps me curious and sharpens the way I look at the world (and at people). It influences my photography more than I sometimes realize, from how I frame a shot to how patient I am when waiting for the right moment.
